In one of the most read cancer articles of 2013, a study published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, showed that taking regular Ginseng improved symptoms of fatigue in patients who had received curative chemotherapy. Patients participating in this research were given either Wisconsin Ginseng (Panax quinquefolius) twice a day or a placebo. The patients who received the ginseng were shown to have significantly lower rates of fatigue.
Although further research is needed to work out how ginseng benefits patients, this is a very promising step in the treatment of a common symptom experienced by patients.
